Congress MLA from Bharatpur, Vishvendra Singh, descendant of erstwhile Bharatpur royal family, has announced that he would welcome her to inform her about unfulfilled promises in his area.

Centuries ago Jawahar Singh, king of the small erstwhile Bharatpur kingdom, had challenged none other than the Mughal sultanate and laid siege on Delhi.

The king had brought back a heavy door that still adorns the Bharatpur Fort and is called ‘Dilli Darwaza’.

In times of democracy, kingdoms no longer exist, but the fearless, rebellious streak apparently continues among the descendants of the Bharatpur dynasty.

As Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje travels across the state to tell about the achievements of her government, Congress MLA from Bharatpur, Vishvendra Singh, descendant of erstwhile  Bharatpur royal family, has announced that he would welcome her to inform her about unfulfilled promises in his area.

Just like his ancestors, who were known for their political intellect Vishvendra Singh’s move too is motivated by smart politics.

Through the meeting he seeks to fires holes in the development narrative and also provide Congress a decentralised poll plank.

He even challenges his own partymen to use it.

“I am compelled to tell CM about unfulfilled promises. You also do it and if you fear doing that, at least give a memorandum,” he said.

In case his strategy is adopted by other Congressmen, it could cause serious embarrassment and trouble for the BJP government at every stage of Raje’s yatra.

Because in politics where norm is to announce more than the attainable, unfulfilled announcements are a must.

Through this, he also attempts to consolidates his position as a deciding factor for political decisions in Bharatpur by taking the opportunity to remind his family that he was the only one who survived the Modi wave among all seven seats of Bharatpur.

Vasundhara Raje and Singh share a lot in common. Both politicians are from erstwhile Jat royal families. They also share a blow hot blow cold relationship.

The meeting expected to be held in Kumher is sure to add a new chapter to this.
