Answering media on Monday, Saraf told that he had come to know through media that a woman in Girwa Block of Udaipur district had to deliver her baby at roadside under the open sky as ambulance did not arrive even after two hours of the call made by family members of the pregnant woman.

“I saw the news published in newspapers and asked Additional Chief Secretary to initiate a probe into the matter. I have asked to file probe report within a week,” said Saraf.

It is worth mentioning that on Saturday afternoon, one unfortunate pregnant woman Nanudi from Sera Gram Panchayat had to give her birth on the roadside when her family members, in the absence of an ambulance, were taking her to Tidi government hospital carrying her on a cot (charpoy) for three kilometers.

After an hour of delivery, a 108 ambulance reached to the spot by which both mother and baby were rushed to Tidi Primary Health Center. On Sunday evening, Udaipur CM&HO made a visit to the hospital where mother and baby were admitted and took stock of their medical condition.

Saraf also directed principal secretary of medical education to enquire and take appropriate action in the matter of death of a child occurred on Sunday at JK Loan Hospital. Family members of the deceased child created a ruckus at the hospital and labeled allegation of negligence on the doctor.
