Intra-air services soon on 6 routes

Jaipur, Kota, S Madhopur, Kishangarh, S Ganganagar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer Ahmedabad & Delhi will be connected

Soon, the intra-air services will be extended on six new routes including direct connectivity to New Delhi and Ahmedabad. The state government gave consent to this proposal on principle and forwarded the same to the Union Civil Aviation Ministry for necessary formalities.

As per the letter shot to the civil aviation by chief secretary Ashok Jain, it has been decided to expand the intra-air services on six more routes which are Jaipur-Kota, Delhi-Sawai Madhopur,

Delhi-Kisahangarh, Delhi-Shri Ganganagar, Jodhpur-Ahmedabad and Jaipur- Jodhpur- Jaisalmer.

So far the service are available on three routes from Jaipur to Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur. The air service was launched by chief minister Vasundhara Raje in October last year and Supreme Airlines was commissioned for operation of flights on a regular basis on these routes.

In the previous Budget the CM had announced to expand intra-air services to other cities and the letter written by the CS comes in its continuance.

In the letter, the CS has recommended for the same air operator to run the operations on new routes.

“In accordance with the Budget announcement made by the chief minister and requirements received from various districts in Rajasthan, state government in principle agreed to operate intra-state services on following routes in addition to three routes,” said the letter by the CS dispatched to Rajiv Nararyan Choubey, secretary to the civil aviation.

In the letter it has also been requested that the department commence flight operations immediately after completion of necessary formalities and receipts of mandatory approvals and no objections certificates (NOC) from respective organisations by the air operator.

Tourism to benefit

The sources in the tourist department said that the move will boost tourism in the desert state as Sawai Madhopur, where Ranthambore National Park is located, will get connected to Delhi. Also, Ajmer, known for Dargah and Puskhar, have also been proposed to be connected under the proposal. Two states, Delhi and Gujarat come under the expansion of the services fetching more tourists and business too.
