The anonymous caller informed that a bomb had been planted in a car parked outside the Shyam Nagar metro station bringing the entire police force on its feet.

While the cops are already working round the clock to maintain law and order during election time, a call received at the Jaipur Police Control Room sparked panic in the Police Commissionerate. The anonymous caller informed that a bomb had been planted in a car parked outside the Shyam Nagar metro station bringing the entire police force on its feet.

Immediately, the area was cordoned and senior officials were informed while bomb disposal squad, dog squad and other authorities were also rushed in. However, after several hours of careful inspection, it was declared that the call was a hoax following which the cops have now started a bid to find the caller who made the hoax call.

When the police received the call at the control room, it was informed that the bomb had been planted in a car that is registered in Delhi. “As soon as the information was received, we first sent the message across to the senior officials and gave out orders to evacuate the spot. Initially, the metro police removed people from the spot while the local police team also reached in the meanwhile. The team found the car in which it was claimed that a bomb had been planted. The BDS and Dog squad also reached, meanwhile, along with fire department teams, medical services and the teams started inspecting the car. It was informed by the caller that the bomb is kept in a tiffin,” officials said.

After careful inspection of the car, it was found that there was no bomb in the car. “When the bomb was not found, it was realised that it was a hoax call. Thereafter, orders were immediately issued to find the numbers from which the call was made and trace the same. It appears that someone tried to create panic or create trouble for some civilian by giving the car’s details. It is not clear who the person was, however, we will find that out and appropriate action in the matter will be taken,” officials said.
