The Write Way: The programme reaches out to authors who have a story to tell!

The ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival has become an annual pilgrimage of sorts for writers, speakers and book lovers.

The festival has not only made writers approachable, its business segment, the Jaipur BookMark (JBM), also provides a platform to aspiring writers through ‘iWrite’, mentorship programme.

After two editions of the successful ‘The First Book Club New Writers Mentorship Programme’ for the first-time writers, the programme reaches out to published and unpublished authors who have a story to tell!

Jaipur BookMark will begin with a full day of programme on 23rd January 2019 and run parallel to the main festival, for the next three days.

Its sixth edition invites entries ranging from short-stories and poetry to works of long fiction and non-fiction from published and unpublished writers across the country.  Festival director and author Namita Gokhale says, “We were deeply impressed by the vibrant writing and creative energy displayed in the entries received for the First Book Club last year. We look forward to listening in to more fresh and talented voices at JBM 2018.”

“Being a published writer is not a far-fetched dream anymore!” said festival co-director Neeta Gupta.

The upcoming edition will see a launch of three books, which include Avinash Mishra’s Naye Shekhar Ki Jeewani (shortlisted in 2017); Alida by Chandra R Talware and Shadow of the Palm Tree by Vatsala Mendonca.

This year, 10 shortlisted participants will be invited to attend Jaipur BookMark.
