Jaipur: CBI to probe case of selling mortgaged land

The court has said that after initial investigation into the case, the CBI should register FIRs against the guilty people.

Rajasthan High Court has handed over the investigations of the matter related to the sale of mortgaged land to different people. The court has said that after initial investigation into the case, the CBI should register FIRs against the guilty people. At the same time, the court has directed to keep the money linked to the case separately in a bank account. The single bench of Justice Manish Bhandari gave the order on the petition filed by Golden Builders and Developers. It was mentioned in the petition that Faridabad Chemical Ltd. took loan on August 12, 1985 from RFC and Industrial Investment Bank of India (IIBI) by mortgaging their land. On not repaying the loan, IIBI sold the land on behalf of the petitioner in August 2007. Meanwhile, RFC sold the property to a third party and gave the charge.

Commerce tax department clerk jailed: The Special Court of ACB cases has sentenced to two years jail the then clerk of the commerce tax department, Puneet Kumar Jain, for not doing assessment despite presenting returns on time and receiving bribe in lieu of stock verification. Along with this, the court has imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Jain.
