Tableau depicting childhood days of Upadhayaya has been created in one of the rooms of the house where he stayed for 10 years.

The way the hut has been developed in Dhanakya makes one recall the way birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi in Porbandar has been developed.

The original huts where Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was born just near the Dhanakya railway station have been restored. These two huts have now been given a shape such that visitors can see the rooms where Upadhyaya was born, played with his maternal grandparents and spent 10 years of his childhood.

The place also has a small kitchen where utensils have been kept and give a live look of what the kitchen would have looked like during his childhood. There is also an old cooking pot made of clay a “mala” is kept in the house. In the rooms, the dioramas of Upadhyaya lying next to his mother on a cot, or playing with maternal grandfather have been displayed. Then there is another diorama which shows Upadhyaya on his knees learning to walk and then another one in which he is shown walking through a walker. One may also be interested to see the “Janmkundali” of Upadhyaya which has been displayed here.

Such diorama will give a clear image to the visitors about the childhood of a leader of whom not much has been publicized. These dioramas look so real that it seems as if one may hear little Deendayal Upadhyaya speaking. The way the hut has been developed in Dhanakya makes one recall the way birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi in Porbandar has been developed. That small house in Porbandar which is open to visitors from across the world shows the room where Gandhiji was born. Some rare photographs have been kept which given information about the life of Mahatma and the whole campus which has been built covering the house is a place where messages and thoughts of Gandhiji are visible.
