Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra has recommended Rs 28 crore works in Jaipur city Lok Sabha area, utilizing 100 percent funds he is entitled to avail for local area development under MPLAD (Member of Parliament Local Area Development) scheme in previous four and half years tenure.
Bohra had received Rs 3 crore balance from former MP Mahesh Joshi account when he was elected MP in 2014 Lok Sabha elections. After spending Rs 3 crore balance of Joshi, Bohra also recommended Rs 25 crores. An MP gets Rs 5 crore per year to spend on development works of his or her area, as per the guidelines set.
As per the statistics available, out of Rs 28 crores recommended, the amount worth Rs 26 crore has been released for the development works in the state capital. The highest volume of funds has been released for Bagru assembly constituency which consists of primarily rural area. Here, Bohra has released Rs 4.42 crores. Bagru is followed by Hawa Mahal and Vidhyadhar Nagar where Rs 3.48 crores and Rs 3.19 crores have been released.
Most of the works funded from his MPLAD fund are for basic needs of the community. The highest amount of funds have been spent on boring of wells solving the drinking problem in the area concerned. Besides this, the MPA has released funds for laying pipelines for water supply and for infrastructure works also.
