Rajasthan: Training held for benefit of MSME sector

The main objective of the programme was to increase awareness and active participation by MSME industry in government procurement by facilitating trade between the government, industry and entrepreneurs.

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a training programme on Government e-marketplace for MSME sector on Thursday September 20. The main objective of the programme was to increase awareness and active participation by MSME industry in government procurement by facilitating trade between the government, industry and entrepreneurs.

PHD Chamber recently was invited by Government e-Marketplace (GeM), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India for driving a training campaign for the benefit of MSME Sector. The objectives was to increase awareness and active participation by MSMEs in Government Procurement by facilitating business between the Government, Industry and entrepreneurs online and help in registration of MSMEs on GeM Portal.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).  The MoU between GeM and PHDCCI was aimed at establishing collaborative approach between our MSME members and the Government for facilitating supply of goods and services under the Government procurement program.

The training was conducted by Suraj Sharma, an official from e-market unit of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Sharma, while giving information on the government e-marketplace, expressed his views on several aspects about the government e-marketplace, registration process for Gem 3.0, government e-marketplaces, the procurement process of government e-marketplaces, financial rules, and the specific terms and conditions of the government e-marketplace.

The Objective

Objective of the programme was to increase active participation by MSME industry in government procurement by facilitating trade between government and industry.
