Snag-hit MiG 21 bis en route to Jaisalmer lands in Jaipur

Sources informed that the fighter plane with a pilot was en route from Gwalior to Jaisalmer when it developed some technical snag mid air.

A Mig 21 bis fighter plane made emergency landing at Jaipur airport on Saturday evening. Till Saturday night it was at the airport.

Sources informed that the fighter plane with a pilot was en route from Gwalior to Jaisalmer when it developed some technical snag mid air. Since Jaipur was the nearest airport it had landed at Jaipur airport. Sources informed that a part which was not working in the fighter plane will have to be replaced to make it in flying condition.

The Defence Ministry had stated that the Mig-21bis would be decommissioned in 2017. However, there has been nearly three-year delay in Tejas programme and the Air Force is yet to give operational clearance to it.
