How was the process of curating the offerings?
Creating my latest collection has been a really exciting adventure for me as I have combined two of my biggest passions, fashion and deep sea diving. I did so by incorporating traditional French lace and detailed timeless pieces into my newest collection. This collection is an ode to the artistry and craftsmanship of India. Titled, Dentelle, this collection focuses on lace, a kind of braiding that is also seen on Sea Fans when Macro diving. Using my inspiration from Raja Ampat Islands in Indonesia, and research on crochet and lace — I studied the complexity of the technique and decided to convert my vision into reality. A union of traditional fabrics, like organza, silk and bridal tulle with modern lines, each creation, drawn in by a sense of optimism has taken over five to six months to complete. Peeling back layers and celebrating femininity, the hand embroidery uses crystals and glass beading detailing. It is made to look like vintage lace. I wanted to create a collection that’s experiential, where the pieces are delicate and bold in imagination and also a moment that speaks to fantasy and inspiration — this collection is a celebration of my favorite things, a mix of modern and fun blouses, techniques, and ideas I love.
Who’s the target audience?
Women of all ages and who appreciate craftsmanship. We always encourage women to experiment without losing their personality.
What’s the store philosophy?
My vision for my brand is to give girls and women an intimate experience, one where they personally feel connected to the brand. Through my store and designs, we aim at giving women a deep sense of pride in femininity, honouring women to feel comfortable and confident by wearing bold and beautiful silhouettes. Launching Krésha Bajaj, the store in Bandra in November 2018, an ode to all things beautiful, mysterious with a splash of fantasy.
