Triptii Dimri has seen quite an interesting lockdown. The actress, who was seen in 'Laila Majnu', gained fame with her movie 'Bulbbul', which was produced by Anushka Sharma. 'Bulbbul' released during the lockdown, and has become a gamechanger for her.
The actress, however, was seen travelling to various destinations soon after, which made it clear that she loves going places, literally. So when DNA caught up with Triptii, she spoke about her love for exploring new places, the kind she prefers, and if there was a place that she had to settle for apart from Mumbai, which would it be.
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
How has the lockdown treated you?
The lockdown has treated me pretty well actually though I was a little uncertain about it in the start of it but after a point I kind of got used to staying home it’s great all of us got to spend time with our family especially people who belong to the entertainment industry, we’re always out for work but I got to spend some family time. I love to cook, so I learnt dishes I didn’t know, watched movies and read books.
So it was not at all a bad experience. I also got busy with my film promotions after a while. I’m just glad and no complaints. The world was going through so many problems but atleast I had a roof and food on my plate during the difficult times.
You received a lot of praises for Bulbbul. Did movie offers also come your way along with it?
Yes, movie offers have come and I’m just weighing my options because the next step is really important that is something that defines your journey as an actor. So, I’m taking my time and luckily I have friends and people whom I know are guiding me and hopefully I’ll be coming up with some good news soon.
We came across some of your travel photos. Tell me about the trips you took.
I love travelling, I always travel with my friends or if they’re unavailable I go by myself. I love mountains and I’ve covered half of Himachal and Uttarakhand. I like trekking and staying in tents, meeting new people and eating good food. Whenever I need a break from work, I go for a vacation.
What was the purpose of the trips, was it a holiday or for work?
These trips are mostly holiday trips. As I mentioned, I either go with my friends or by myself it’s always fun to travel, meet new people, eat good food and see new places. I love travelling but it is also important that I explore other places as well and not just mountains. I’m planning to explore South next.
Right now many people have started taking a vacation with Unlock Phase. Do you also have your next travel destination in mind?
No, not really. I just was on a vacation two weeks back. I was in Uttarakhand with my friends, was shooting there then called my friends we went to Mukteshwar. We had a great time there. So I’ll be in Bombay now for a month or two and also work has finally started again so I don’t want to miss out on it.
Your getaway place?
It’s the mountains, like any mountains. No particular place in mind, but you can take me to any mountains.
We hear you are an avid traveler. So any plans to start a blog or vlog describing your travel journey?
Not really, I don’t want to start a vlog, because I go there to chill. I don’t want it to be my workplace and I go there to take a break and eat good food and meet new people . Also, I’m planning to open my own camping site and I’m working on it.
If you had to leave Mumbai and settle in another place, which place (in India or Abroad) would you pick?
That place would be my hometown Uttarakhand as I have my friends and family there. So that is where I’d pick to settle in if not Bombay.
