With our hectic lifestyles, most of us have little time to get dressed. For many, make-up is done in the backseat of a cab or in the office bathroom. But just because you have a few minutes to look your best, it doesn’t mean you need to skip your make-up altogether. Experts take us through make-up steps for those on the go...

On days like Monday’s when you don’t have too much time in the mornings, this super quick routine will make you look fresh and gorgeous.

  • Start with a moisturiser and sunscreen.
  • Use a  concealer in one shade lighter than your skin tone around the eyes and anywhere else that you may need. This will help brighten your face.
  • Using a translucent powder set the concealer in place.
  • Two to three coats of mascara on your lashes will open up your eyes.
  • A slight hint of blush on the apple of the cheeks will add some colour to your face to look healthy and fresh.
  • Just these products can make your face look clean. If you’re one of those who can’t go without kajal, add that to your routine.

You can quickly transform yourself even if you just have 15 minutes to spare.

  • Start with combing and filling in your brows with a brown/grey powder eyeshadow (starting with the eyes is always better to avoid fallouts at a later stage).
  • Use a creme eyeshadow to add a hint of colour to the eyelids (you could completely skip this step)
  • Follow it up with a good creme/gel liner and a smudge-proof kajal. Pat powder shadow on top for a matte liner look or you could do away with the liner and apply loads to mascara to add volume and length to the lashes for a clean eye look.
  • Clean the face and any product fallout with a cleanser and then moisturise.
  • Apply a pore minimising primer and then use your liquid foundation.
  • Correct and conceal eyes depending on the intensity of dark circles.
  • Use a brown lipstick to contour the cheek and jawline and blend it in. You could also avoid this step and just go in for powder contour post the next step.
  • Pat some setting powder on.
  • In case you’ve skipped the creme contour step, just use your brown eyeshadow or a bronzer to contour your jawline/cheek, nose if needed. To be done after you’ve used a setting powder (shade of brown depends on your skin tone — it should be two to three shades darker than your actual skin tone)
  • Swipe a cheek tint/ lip stain on your cheek and lips to add a natural colour flush.
  • Lastly, set it using a good matte/dewy finish make-up setting spray.

When you have half an hour, you can easily play up your favourite features and work on a variety of looks.

  • Moisturise your face well and apply a primer.
  • Follow it up with a BB cream or foundation and blend with a kabuki brush all over your face and neck.
  • Apply a concealer if needed and dab it well with your fingertips.
  • Dab loose powder all over your face with a puff or with a powder brush.
  • Define your brows well using a natural brown eyebrow gel. Brush off the excess with an eyebrow brush.
  • Apply a peach nude eyeshadow over your eyelids and contour the corner sockets with a nude brown tone. Apply a wine coloured thin eyeliner and smudge it with a smokey brush.
  • Use a volumising mascara to open the eyes and for the cheeks opt for a rose cheek tint.
  • Contour your nose, jawline and cheekbones with a natural brown contouring compact.
  • Finally, define your lips with a nude lip pencil and apply a rouge lip tint on the lips.
