Richie Rich from USA, Bo Carter and designer trio Pamela, Archana and Muraad from London! The bar has just been raised. If you’re talking about international fashion, it’s all here.

The fourth edition of the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week to be held at Hotel Matthan from February 3 to 6, has gotten bigger.

“This time, we want to set a new milestone in the Indian fashion scene by blending it with international fashion. We want to take it one step ahead when compared to the other fashion weeks in our country. It’ll be an opportunity for international designers to come over and explore the Indian market,” says Feroz Khan of Dream Merchants, the people behind the show.

Of the three international names, the trio of Pamela, Archana and Muraad say they found India to be a rather lucrative market after their first show here. Pamela says, “We love the creativity and brilliance that makes up the work of Indian designers. India has become hip and trendy and is an upcoming market for Western designers and commercial brands. We are keen to observe the growth and evolution of India’s fashion industry. As international participants, we very much believe that Muraad’s bold designs and Pam & Arch’s stylish prints will be a perfect fit for India’s fashion scene.”

For Richie Rich and Bo Carter, India is a completely new turf. Speaking on behalf of Richie, his manager Brian Long says, “We have been in talks with Dream Merchants over the last two years. We are happy that this is finally happening. We are excited about showcasing as part of this fashion week.” Richie’s designs have been created to develop, nurture and cultivate the pop star in every individual. “The designs are sure to find acceptance in India,” says Brian.

Bo, too, seems ecstatic about showcasing here. “I have never been to India, though it has always been on my list of places to visit,” she says. Bo is looking forward to working with Indian models, who she finds “incredibly beautiful”. She says, “I can’t wait to see them in my designs, which incidentally are very Victorian. I like to experiment with fabrics and I have added a punk twist to Victorian designs.”
