“They’ve acted as Parsees in mummy’s (Pearl Padamsee) plays almost 30 years ago and in this one you can’t believe that they’re not Parsees in real life,” she says.

Titled The Game, and directed by Sam Kerawalla, it presents two characters that are part of an old-age home. “They engage with each other over a game of cards. As they play, the protagonists realise things about their lives and the games they play with each other. They’re lonely and reluctant to admit it,” she adds.

The original version of The Game was directed by Hosi Vasunia 10 years ago. “Hosi passed away and I decided to do this with Alyque and Sabira,” informs Raell.

With the two actors coming together after so many years, it must have been fun on stage. “Totally,” she laughs. “They were constantly going down memory lane. Alyque told me he had such a blast on stage. ‘I feel liberated’ he said,” she adds.
