Artist Mrityunjay Mondal presents his latest collection of artworks called Journey — a series of works that depicts other living beings like animals, that have the ability to express emotions but cannot speak for themselves.

It depicts the love he has for his village and the animals that live there. He explains that everything is a part of the journey and the human race is sacrificing nature in order to construct buildings and roads.

Mondal says that we need animals and nature in our lives. Due to us reducing nature, we have lead to the destruction of the environment and have caused global warming, leading to an imbalance in the world. Mondal, drew inspiration from a sculpture of a goat in Paris by Picasso.

He saw a goat in his village and decided that if an artist like Picasso could be inspired by nature and animals and speak for them, he could do the same. Thus his goat painting was born, which depicts the goat flying in order to attain freedom. The exhibition is on till December 21 at India Fine Art, Tardeo.
