Grover revealed in a Vagerah Vagerah podcast that he enrolled in a coaching programme during his last year at IIT and that he frequently arrived late for the lessons, forcing him to go on to the next one where he met Jain.

I would always run about 15 minutes late for my class and there was also some confusion about which batch I was in so most of the the time I would end up attending the wrong batch. She (Jain) was in that batch," Ashneer Grover said. "Something about her struck me and I knew that this is the woman I wanted to get married to."

Grover continued by relating other anecdotes, stating that although Jain continued to accept his invitations to go on dates, she was first quite wary of him. She also enquired about "Ashnoor" through a college buddy who had been a classmate of Grover's in the past.

"My friend told her it's 'Ashneer', not 'Ashnoor' and asked her to stay away from me. I got a very bad review" he said, adding that things eventually worked out in his favour. "I had even told my best friend that I will get married to her and that's how things turned out."

When Grover joined BharatPe as a co-founder of the financial company, Madhuri Jain was serving as the organization's head of controls. The pair quit the business amid claims of financial embezzlement and approval of false invoices, among other things.

Their new business, Third Unicorn, is what they are now working on.
