Taking a cue from beauty contests for young and married women and men across the world, a beauty pageant would be held for the eunuchs which they believe is a step forward towards blending in the society.

Twelve Noon Entertainment, an initiative of Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, along with Vcare, a diversified business conglomerate today announced its hunt for the most talented transgenders in ten cities across the country.

In first of its kind, country's first ever beauty pageant for transgenders - Vcare India Super Queen' would be held on February 21 in New Delhi. The auditions for the same will be started from January 13 across ten metros and non-metros.

Laxmi, a dancer, dance instructor, and hijra guru, still feels that the community faces discrimination in the society. "To some extent, the society has accepted gays and lesbians. But we are treated shoddily," Tripathi said.

This contest will bring the community together and will create a positive vibe among them, Tripathi, who is the CEO of Twelve Noon Entertainment, said.

The initiative is receiving immense support of Bollywood star like Salman Khan, Tarun Tahiliani, Celina Jaitley and Seema Biswas, who will judge the contest.

President Pratibha Patil, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi are also likely to attend the event, Tripathi said.

Former Miss India and Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley, who have always been in the forefront to support the community, said, "This is a good step, it is like a new chapter in the history of India. Beauty exists in all human beings gender has nothing to do with it."

We wish that they all get equal rights in the society and be able to live a life with dignity, Jaitley said. On the criteria for the beauty contest, Tripathi said, "the contest is not about the best and most beautiful transgender but who is willing to proudly display their character and take pride in who they are and to prove that they are just as 'human' as others."
