Ever wondered what it takes to make a fashion week successful? It’s not only the designers and models but a lot of merit goes to the guys behind the scenes.
Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW) is no exception; in fact a whole team of experts is working tirelessly to take it to the next level. Choreographer Rahul Dev Shetty says, “We are like the director of a film, the smooth sail of an entire show is pretty much on our shoulders. One needs to have back-up plans in case one plan fails. If there are any teething problems, we need to take care of them right away, for there are no retakes!”
Music is an equally important aspect. The wrong music can kill a show! “Our work starts from the time a show is conceived. Once we get the list of designers and a brief on the clothes, we work on the music with the choreographer. We also have to be ready for changes, in case the designers want something in the last minute,” says fashion DJ Tanmay Rao.
One of the most essential aspects of a good show is great make-up. Robert Naorem, who is styling the models for the BFW, says, “We first understand the requirement of the designers and choreographers before deciding on the look. Since this edition is more on the lines of Spring-Summer, we will use colours that signify the concept. One has to make sure that all the make-up is uniform and the make-up team understands each other.”
