Indulge in all things pink this weekend. And that includes the drinks you order at the bar. What with the entire month of October being dedicated to spreading Breast Cancer Awareness, you wouldn’t be surprised to spot people on the streets or at work wearing the colour of the month. It would be fun to take it to another lever and get together with your girl gang and have a ball, Sex and the City style!

At least Nidhi Ghosh, who works at a publishing house, seems to think so. “I’ve been wearing pink to work this whole week to show my support to the cause. And now that will culminate into a party with my girlfriends this weekend. We’ve decided to only go for Pink Lady and Cosmopolitan.”

At several city clubs and pubs, pink is the flavour of the month. Jay Singh, of Hard Rock Cafe, says, “We have specially designed Pinktober merchandise and innovative pink cocktails known as ‘Pink for Cure Cocktails’ on the menu. As the name denotes, these drinks offer an appealing blend of pink coloured cocktails with a cause to support.”

Try out cocktails such as Pop Diva-Pop Rock’s Candy Drink, Pink Ink, and Hot Pink Fusion among others. Go for Margarita Madness at Sancho’s and try the Campeche Bay Margarita that’s a sprightly twist to a pink tipple. Strawberries and cream will never go out of fashion; The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has introduced it as the beverage of the month to go with the mood.

City bartender Divyak P agrees that nightclubs have seen a rise in the ordering of pink tipple. Think Cosmopolitan, French Kiss, Blackberry Martini, Pink Rum, Rose Red, Shirley Temple, Flamingo and more. “Both men and women are going for pink tipple, which is a good thing because that shows people are ready to support the cause. Cosmopolitan emerges as the clear winner among the most favoured,” he informs.
