The legend’s academy is coming to India; authorities plan to approach actors Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar to promote it

Here’s some great news for Indian fans of Bruce Lee. The martial arts legend’s world-famous karate academy — Jeet Kune Do — is coming to India. Apparently, actors Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar are said to be approached by the Bruce Lee Foundation (a non-profit organisation for perpetuating and preserving the legend’s legacy) to promote this venture in India. As of now actor Suniel Shetty has come forward and is investing his money into opening 25 such martial arts institutions across India.

Mark Stewart, one of the top bosses of foundation, visited India recently to accelerate the initiative and also honour Yajness Shetty, the ambassador of Bruce Lee’s foundation in India. Yajness, who has trained the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar etc., is spearheading the venture.

He says, “In the month of August, in collaboration with Jeet Kune Do and global sports federation, we plan to open various martial arts centres across India. The venture will kick-start from August. Mark Stewart will be in the country to promote the academy in a huge way.”

He adds, “A lot of projects are in pipeline which will be revealed as and when things are finalised. Talks are on with various spas, gyms and fitness centres.”
