The British chef and restaurateur will soon be in Mumbai for the gourmet food festival 'World on A Plate'

For Marco Pierre White, the godfather of modern cooking, it's the culture, the new and the old, the food and the methods of cooking, which intrigue him about India. The British chef and restaurateur, who will soon be in Mumbai for the gourmet food festival World on A Plate, says that India is one of the very few countries he has dreamt of going to. “Through food you can inspire people, enrich people’s lives and make them dream. I believe if you have been given in life, you have a duty and a responsibility to share,” he says.

On January 19 and 20, Marco will curate two exclusive fine-dine dinners and two masterclasses at The St Regis Mumbai. There will also be conversations with the chef across both days at Universal Square at High Street Phoenix Lower Parel. As part of the event, the Chef will also judge some of India's top restaurants that compete for the coveted ‘World On A Plate Restaurant of the Year’ trophy. It's Marco's first visit to India and he's naturally looking forward to the same. “I will be doing many things - enjoying myself, wandering the streets, discovering the culture, a few master-classes, a few dinners and although I’m there for not a very long time, I know it will be long enough to be intoxicated with the beauty of India.”
