We are without a doubt, living in the most fractured time in humanity where one group of people is absolutely unable to agree with another. From politics to sports, we agree to disagree about everything and that extends to our culinary choices. While some will swear by the Hyderabadi style of biryani, others claim that Lucknow/Kolkata style biryani with the potato is the true biryani. Others see red simply at the mention of veg biryani.
The same situation extends to sweets, which recently saw a bitter battle between Odiyas and Bengalis over the true creators of the rasgulla.
So, it’s no surprise, that Indian Twitter is pitched in a battle over the true position of the kaju katli (kaju barfi for Bengalis) in the hierarchy of Diwali sweets.
For the uninitiated, the festival of Diwali is incomplete without giving each other diabetes-inducing packages of sweets which consist of an assortment of sweetmeats.
Among them is the kaju barfi, which some consider great and others not so much.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to this battle:
Happy Diwali everyone and let's be honest. The truly overrated sweet is mysore pak.
