'As they say, you reap what you sow. We must plant trees for our children, the citizens of tomorrow.," Juhi said.

The 90s superstar & and an enthusiastic environmentalist, actress Juhi Chawla believes in practising what she preaches. The actress has so far planted over fifty-five thousand trees over a span of two years and aims to plant many more in the coming days.

Previously the actress pointed out the alarming rate at which the temperatures have been rising each passing year with record-breaking statistics. She also suggested the idea of planting more trees to make April cooler for our coming generations.

Currently shooting for her upcoming web series Hush Hush, the co- founder of IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, Juhi has been passionate about the environment for the longest time and has championed causes to curb plastic pollution, mobile tower radiation among other things. The actress also had hosted India's one of a kind organic market empowering local farmers with a successful debut year but didn't see the light due to Covid restrictions last year.

In fact, Juhi even flagged a new trend in Bollywood where she would donate trees on behalf of her peers and friends in the industry on their birthdays as a token of love. Also as KKR co-founder, Juhi began a ritual at their home ground, where for every six hit in the Kolkata stadium, a tree would be planted.

Juhi excitedly shares, 'If we don't use our stardom for a good cause, what's the point of it at all. Every time I put out a simple message on planting trees, I get a handful of messages from my fans who diligently do it and that is my reward, my biggest present. As they say, you reap what you sow. We must plant trees for our children, the citizens of tomorrow.'

'I've been able to plant over 55,135 saplings, a couple of them credited to my fans too who listened to me. But I'd promised a non-profit organization to plant about a lakh. I'm almost halfway through and this Earth Day, I'm going to urge my friends, family & fans to help me achieve my vision," Juhi added.
