Dussehra is one of the most popular holidays in India. Goddess Durga is worshipped for nine days on this sacred festival. Sharannavaratra 2024 takes place this year from October 3rd to October 11th. Families and friends join together to rejoice and spread joy during Dussehra. The day represents the victory of good over evil. It honours the day that Lord Rama vanquished the demon king Ravana, who had kidnapped Sita. The victory of righteousness is symbolised by the defeat of Ravana by Lord Vishnu's incarnation, Rama.
