Hot-bod Trinity
They are sultry, leggy and curvaceous. Gia Johnson-Singh, Rebecca Tyagi and Jyothsna Chakravarthy — the modelling world’s oomphy threesome — spill their secrets to DNA...
Gia Johnson-Singh
Age: 23
Definition of hot: “Sexiness can be interpreted in many different ways. For me it comes down to confidence, not cockiness or arrogance. Sure, there is a thin line. To be at ease and content with your body and skin is always attractive.”
Sexiest body: “Beyonce (Knowles) has an incredible body. When I watch her on TV my eyes are totally glued. She’s strong, confident, sexy and an amazing dancer. I also think most women in Bollywood are extremely beautiful. Priyanka Chopra is sexy and classy at the same time.”
Fitness regime: “I’m a true Punjabi girl who loves her
food. So if I really fancy something, I’ll eat it. I do, however, rely on an exercise method called Lotte Berk to keep me fit. It’s based on repetitive movements using the ballet bar and floor. It’s similar to pilates, which is also great to tone all those problem areas.”
How did modelling happen: “I never thought about modelling while growing up because I was too busy studying, going to dance classes and learning the piano. Though a few agencies approached me, I never acted on it. Also, my mother usually chucked their business cards in the bin. I was only 15 years old. Then one day a French woman called Marie Soulier approached me. She had worked with many top agencies in Europe. Marie has now managed me for nearly 10 years and has got me work all over the world. It’s not something I instantly rushed into. We all agreed that finishing my education was important.”
Best bikini designer: “I’m not particularly into designer bikinis. I have so many of them in different colours and styles. I have bought them from different places.”
Turn-ons: “Good food, wine and music. You can’t go wrong.”
Turn-offs: “Bad manners. Good etiquette is very important and doesn’t cost anything.”
Hottest man alive: “Sorry to disappoint you but what you might think is the hottest man alive might be the most boring. Don’t let looks fool you! I’m still searching.”
Jyothsna Chakravarthy
Age: 24
Definition of hot: “Being sexy is more about character and personality. Though looks are important, it’s not the be all and end all. It is important to feel sexy and then manifest it. Being attractive from within means you are pleasant and open about your sexuality. Only then can you exude appeal.”
Sexiest body: “In Hollywood it is Scarlett Johansson. She is uber-cool. Back home, Katrina Kaif is quite the sexy one.”
Fitness regime: “Thankfully, I don’t put on weight often. But I am still careful. I go to the gym thrice a week and do cardio and weight-training. I don’t starve myself but I watch what I eat. I don’t indulge in sweets.”
How did modelling happen: “I was doing shows in Bangalore when an agency asked me to come to Mumbai and show my work there. So here I am.”
Best bikini designer: “Sanchita.”
Turn-ons: “A sense of humour and sarcasm. The latter is one of the most difficult because it requires a lot more wit and the person has to be sure of what he says.”
Turn-offs: “Unjust ego! Many people say things to sustain what they have earlier said. And even if it is wrong, they will stick to it because they want to prove a point.”
Hottest man alive: “Johnny Deep. Sigh.”
Rebecca Taygi
Age: 24
Definition of hot: “It is more about feeling sexy than looking it. I think it is the attitude that makes the look. And sleazy is certainly not sexy. People often confuse sleazy with being sexy but there is a huge difference.”
Sexiest body: “Nicole Scherzinger.”
Fitness regime: “I walk a lot. I get bored of working out in the gym, but I go. I add some spice by doing a mix of treadmill, cross training and the cycle.”
How did modelling happen: “I had come to India for a journalism internship in September last year and I met someone from a modelling agency. That person asked me to shoot a portfolio. Since then work has been pouring in. And I am enjoying every bit of it.”
Best bikini designer: “Ranna Gill.”
Turn-ons: “A man who can dance.”
Turn-offs: “Long fingernails.”
Hottest man alive: “Brad Pitt.”
