Kite museum in Ahmedabad celebrates 25th birthday

On February 26, when Ahmedabad celebrates 600th birthday of its foundation, the Kite Museum at Sanskar Kendra turns 25.

A unique museum in the heart of the city, the Kite Museum that displays a wide variety of kites, shares its birthday with Ahmedabad. On February 26, when Ahmedabad celebrates 600th birthday of its foundation, the Kite Museum at Sanskar Kendra turns 25!

One of the collectors  at that time Bhanu Shah informed DNA that the kite museum was inaugurated on February 26 - 1984 by the then chief minister Amarsinh Chaudhary.  "It was in 1982 that a trust to look after the unique Kite Museum was formed," said Shah.

He says, the museum has seen many celebrities. "Shyam Benegal had said - "This museum is a highly infectious place of aesthetics". Shah said the specialty of the museum is that it shows history of kites through visuals and a short film so that
it  interests visitors.
