I realised if I raised my voice, others who have gone through worse, would stand up, says Shannon

After Lately and A Long Time, Kumar Sanu’s daughter Shannon K has dropped an anti-bullying anthem Give Me Your Hand, which features her sister Annabelle K. It also stars a number of actors and singer-songwriters such as David Arquette (Scream), Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl), Briana Evigan (Step Up), etc. Written by Shannon (who was raised in the UK and then the US) and Annabelle, the single addresses the issue of bullying that the former faced because of her skin colour and lisp, while the latter was body-shamed and is an effort to support other victims.

Shannon says, “I realised if I raised my voice, others who have gone through worse, would stand up. I wanted to quit music. I thought it was a mistake to dream about it.” She adds, “It’s a positive sentence that says that you’re not alone, just give me your hand. Let’s talk to each other and let’s help out each other.”
