On Wednesday, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman's daughter Parakala Vangamayi exchanged vows with Prateek in a small ceremony at her house in Bengaluru, Karnataka. According to media reports, the wedding was attended by close friends and relatives, and no political leaders were invited.

Vangamayi married Prateek, a Gujarati, according to Brahmin traditions, and seers from the Udupi Adamaru Mutt were there to bless the bride and groom. Adamaru Mutt's Vedic order was followed for the wedding.

The bride decked up in a pink saree paired with a green blouse. The groom was dressed in a white pancha and shawl.

Who is Parakala Vangamayi?

Vangmayi Parakala, daughter of India's current finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman, was born in Chennai on May 20, 1991. She has stayed away from the public eye and maintains a low profile despite coming from a well-established family.

Parakala Vangamayi has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English Literature from Delhi University. After, completing her bachelor's she spent a year in the United States and pursued a Master of Science in Journalism. She is believed to have specialised in magazine and photojournalism. 

Vangmayi is currently a senior correspondent for a national newspaper, primarily writing about art, lifestyle technology, and books.
