Beer is probably one of the most popular alcoholic beverages among people of all age group around the world. And Mumbai has got another reason for all beer devotees to rejoice. Enjoying beer has just become more fun with unique workshops, festivals and challenges introduced to increase the people’s interest.

Woodside All Day Bar and Eatery offers a crash course in Beerology. The joint is organising a beer appreciation and tasting workshop. The session will be open to beer connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike. The tastings would encompass six international beers with a guided tasting session for each of them; it will vary from a vast array of beers from Japan, USA, Germany, UK, Ireland and of course India.

Pankil Shah, partner Woodside, says, “Woodside Inn, Colaba, our flagship outlet has always been recognised for its varied collection of international beer. The beer drinking culture in Colaba has existed for a long time due to the presence of a large number of expats and tourists. Andheri being a relatively new suburb, we felt our new outlet needed to provide knowledge about different beers in a fun way to the neighbourhood and hence this beer tasting was conceptualised.”

Nikhil Agarwal, Director of All Things Nice, a platform for knowledge, networking and indulgent experiences for wine, luxury spirits and gourmet food aficionados, will take one through the history of beer, how beer is made — raw materials and process, the importance of your sense of smell — cinnamon and sugar trick, types and styles of beer, and tasting of each beer with regular intervals while talking about the beer being tasted. Apart from being fun, these workshops promise technical information as well.

If this was not enough, one can undertake the beer bladder blast challenge and enjoy unlimited beer at a cover price. Bistro Grill has set up this unique challenge of having beer by daring customers and beer lovers to participate in a healthy competition. The catch: the first person to leave for the loo, loses the challenge!
The joints have also created a home like ambience for one to relax and enjoy the occasional chilled beer. So whether you love beer or enjoy the odd pint, this event is definitely for all the beer lovers in town. But just make sure you’re of the legal drinking age, before you go beer binging!
