Actor Anjorie Alagh talks about her recent US trip and how she loves travelling and gathering new experiences.
I usually travel with family or travel by myself. I meet my friends in the city that I am visiting. Recently I went to New York (NY) and Los Angeles (LA). I had not been back to US since I graduated from college, so I went back to visit my friends back there. It is so refreshing to catch up with old friends. Even though you meet them after so long, it feels the same. The comfort level is the same, but everybody is living different lives. It’s so wonderful to catch up with old friends. I spent a lot of time just hanging out in LA.
LA is a beautiful city. I love the beaches. Unlike NY, it’s a little more relaxed. Life is not too fast. People are very friendly, they work hard but they also know how to enjoy their life. They make the best of their outdoors. I went to the Getty Museum and spent an entire day there. Obviously Rodeo Drive and then to a completely contrasting Venice Beach. Went to Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills. Went to a number of different restaurants and the opening of a new Club called 210. We also went to Santa Barbara which is stunning.
I loved the shopping in LA. You have all the brands as well as high street stores and some lovely boutique stores. So you have a lot of options. You can pick what u like according to your individual style.
And for a woman you just can’t get enough. I buy my clothes from the US. A lot of my basics like pants, jeans, and stuff you need every day. Plus my formals, lots of dresses, nice tops. I have weakness for sunglasses so I go mad there. And ya. lots of accessories. I love the bling belts, flowers for the hair and necklaces.
I am a complete foodie. I love Sushi and I love Steak. There are so many different kinds of cuisine available in LA, be it Japanese, Italian, Lebanese, Mexican, Persian, Chinese. But my favourite is the Steak Houses, Chinese and Japanese Food.
Watch a play, go for a movie, go to a sports event, go to a concert, and spend a day in the park or barbecue by the beach. There’s so much to do and it’s this variety that makes it so much fun. The best thing about America is all about individuality.
