About 200 employees of Phadnis Group donated three large boxes of clothes, books, toys, stationery, blankets and warm clothes to Goonj, a voluntary organisation that works for the poor.
The collection drive was held over eight days beginning last week of November. The drive was a part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity.
Phadnis Group along with Goonj, initiated the donation campaign on the company’s premises. All the officers and verticals of Phadnis Group were a part of this drive, where each one donated clothes and other articles to the poor.
The clothes were handed over to Goonj, which the organisation may use as Christmas presents for the poor and needy, they work with.
All the employees of Phadnis Group were happy being a part of this initiative and would support this noble cause every year.
“I am thankful my company for giving us this opportunity to do something good and contributing back to society. I am proud to be part of this donation drive.” said Anjali Umap, an employee.
Talking about this initiative, director of Phadnis Group, Anuradha Phadnis, said, “We are actively involved in all CSR activities and wanted to start this initiative during winter season. The aim was to collect material that will be used for the development activities of the underprivileged. We are happy that we can spread smiles across many faces during the Christmas.”
The Phadnis Group was started by Vinay Phadnis ‘Sahil Group’ in 2003.
Today, this group has emerged as player in real estate and hospitality and moving towards infrastructure, power, telecom and information technology.
