Sea diving in Mauritius

Diving into the sea in Mauritius is like taking a dip in your swimming pool, yet its sensuality will catch you unawares

If you are in Mumbai for a couple of years, you think that the sea is grey and when you think of the beach, you actually lust after the singdana or the bhutta that you can have while walking near the sea. A visit to Mauritius will change the way you look at the sea — we can bet that you have never seen a bluer and clearer sea. But that is not the best part of the sea here. There is something about the clear blue and green water that you would hardly find at other beaches across the world. Okay here it is: the sea is waveless! Yes, there are no giant waves, just a tranquil giant blue swimming pool inviting one to take a dip.

 Beach at its best
What is a beach without a sea of bikini clad babes, sunbathing on it? Well, that is something you won’t miss here for sure. So if you are going to Mauritius, be prepared to pack your best swimsuit, as you might be tempted to join in the people clad in bikinis, soaking in the maximum amount of sun. Okay, we also thought that there was a nude beach, but we couldn’t find one.

If you want to spend a little more money, probably you should try the private beaches that some of the upper-end hotels have. For example, the beach and golf course of Le Tuessrock hotel is worth a try simply because soccer star David Beckham and wife Victoria were put up there sometime back in one of their villas. Other than the main islands, there are several small islands where you can go and soak in solitary bliss. Try the beaches, if you wan’t to join the crowd, you won’t miss a thing. But if you don’t, you will miss it all.

 Be a sport

If you are in Mauritius and not trying the sporting activities, then it’s best not to go there at all. Now that you have decided to try it, let’s tell you that the glass bottom boats are an ideal sport for those who don’t want to trouble their body with a lot of activities. Just sit on the boat and enjoy the ocean underneath. Now, if you are in a mood to get drenched, you must go snorkeling. We know that you could do it in the Andamans, but the sea life in Mauritus is something worth seeing. There are no waves. It’s like taking a dip in the swimming pool and the colours of the sea bed is an amazing sight to catch.

We spent time watching the Mercedes Benz Golf Tournament that was on at the time of our visit. And if you have a lot more time to kill, watch the sega dancers perform live. Mauritius indeed has a lot to offer to make your trip a perfect one. So, see you there!
