A short film made by you can really tell a lot about your talent as a film-maker. Keeping this fact in consideration, Zee Cinema recently partnered with the International Cultural Exchange (ICE), a Pune-based NGO, to present the fifth chapter of ICE Digital Short Film Festival. The objective of the festival was to help some of the finest, budding and young film-makers in India to find an audience. The festival screened approximately 30 short films ranging from topics such as incest to environment conservation. Zee Cinema will be selecting three outstanding films amongst these and will showcase them on the channel during a special slot in the coming months. The films will also be screened on Zee Premier.  Samar Nakhate, festival director, ICE, believes that there is a lot of talent in our country but it somehow gets lost without adequate support. He says, “I have been to various film festivals across the world. Many of these festivals showcase short films made by some of the great film-makers from their younger days. All these film-makers somewhere got a chance to nurture their talent further. Otherwise who would have known about their films?” Mohan Gopinath, business head, Zee Cinema, says, “Zee as a group has always been actively involved with scouting superlative talent and then nurturing it to present to the rest of country. Be it Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Dance India Dance on Zee TV, we have constantly contributed to the rich pool of talent. ICE Digital Short Film Festival is our endeavour to give the most deserving film-makers a change to showcase their work.”
