Society folk go on the ramp-edge for a cause

The glamouratti is set to put their best foot forward in a show that will help cancer patients.

Excitement is meeting fashion and stardom as the Caring With Style: presented by CPAA’s (Cancer Patients Aid Association) annual show takes place tomorrow. And as society folk sashay down the ramp there’s bound to be equal attention to the cause as well.

Actor Anjorie Alagh says, “It’s very important for women to do what they can for something like this. When you’re helping out in a cause, your priorities change and you see things from a better perspective.”

Fashion designer/politician Shaina NC, who has conceptualised the show, says, “It’s  like a proper theatre production. With 40 participants, each having two changes, it will bring together people from all walks of life.”

Though artist Arzan Khambatta admits that the last time he walked the ramp was back in 2005, he’ll give this show his best shot. “Associating with any charity is wonderful.” While he’s high on enthusiasm, the only thing that will be less intense are his clothes. “I’m a very soft dresser, so I opted for the least embroidery and dazzle on the clothes I’ll be wearing,” he says.

It’s medical cosmetologist Dr Purnima Mhatre’s first association with the CPAA. “I want that to continue. As a doctor I know that so many patients can’t afford the treatment, so we must all do our bit to help out,” she says.

While theatre director Lillete Dubey is looking forward to wearing her emerald green and gold sarees, she adds, “For me it’s not the clothes or crowd, it’s CPAA. I’m a softie for NGO activities and they are doing such credible work.”
