Earlier it was only woven and today digital prints are combined with knits to makes it different.

Tartan has always been the coolest element in the menswear space and it always comes back in a tweaked, reworked format season after season. It could be splashed across a jumper or print on a bomber jacket. Designers across the style spectrum always manage to rework the classic. “It’s obviously something which has been done before and each season it’s combined it with new elements like digital prints. Earlier it was only woven and today digital prints are combined with knits to makes it different. It’s fashion’s way of bringing back the old in a new way,” says designer Troy Costa.

For Spring Summer 2019 lines, a lot of menswear designers toyed with the tartan making it of-the-moment. Bogliolo presented a biscotti toned suit and Missoni showcased a plaid twinset in their signature multi-hued handwriting. Plaid was also seen on runways of Marni and Zegna.
