Kishan Kapoor, industry minister of Himachal Pradesh inaugurated the event and said such events would help the younger generation to counter addiction to drugs and other narcotics.

"I appreciate the organisers for hosting such music festivals. Our government is also doing anti-drug campaign through different media. This is a very good attempt to discourage the youngsters from the habit of consuming drugs. I have appealed these youth to relay this message to every youth in and around their neighbourhood. This is a message endorsed by us and our state government," said Kishan Kapoor.

Ankur Kaushal, a functionary of Unified Shimla Musicians noted that rock music which otherwise is usually linked to drugs, could be used as a tool to eliminate the habit of drugs.

"Rock music has always been associated with drugs, it has always been a medium of spreading drugs. If you listen to the international concerts, drugs and all are very common in it. But here what we are doing is, instead of criticising rock music why not use it as a tool to eliminate habit of drug from the youth because most of the youth follows rock music," said Kaushal.
