Mumbai sports lovers have a new stadium in the city.

  1. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium was inaugurated on August 3, 2013.
     
  2. It took 10 years to be built.
     
  3. The area of the stadium is 30,000 square feet.
     
  4. It is a fully air-conditioned arena with 3150 seats on top. The ground floor seating varies according to the event.
     
  5. It is the only stadium in Mumbai that has 1000 car parking slots.
     
  6. It cost Rs250 crores for it to be built.
     
  7. Football and cricket are prohibited in the stadium.
     
  8. It is open for all indoor sporting and entertainment events.
  • Events that were held at the stadium recently are:
    Star Plus Uttrakhand Relief fund on August 15.
     
  • Indian Badminton League from August 18 to 31.

      9. In December, there are 3 international events in the stadium, in which 45 countries will take part.
