For devotees of the elephant-headed god, there is reason to rejoice for what seems like divine intervention on the part of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).
During five days in late August, the MSRTC will deploy 1,500 additional buses to facilitate convenient travel for commuters who plan to visit their native places in several districts and talukas of the Konkan region during the Ganapati festival.
According to information provided in an official statement recently released by the MSRTC for the Mumbai and Thane region, 1,500 additional buses will carry commuters across the Konkan from August 27 to August 31.
Commuters can book their tickets on a group or on individual reservation basis. To facilitate the return journeys of commuters, there will also be additional buses provided between September 6 and September 23. Computer-based reservations of these return journeys will begin a month before the actual journey.
