The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Mumbai went into high alert mode after the Ulhasnagar police control room received a phone call from someone threatening to blow up Bandra railway station on Friday. The call created a lot of panic, but was finally traced as the mobile tower locator helped track the culprits -- two Bangladeshis working in an industrial unit.
The two people belong to Bhooshira in the district Agora of Bangladesh and worked with Mamta Industries in Valiv East. They were residing illegally in India. They threatened to blow up Bandra station after dialing 100. The call was connected to Ulhasnagar police control room.
The Valiv police sprung into action immediately after receiving the information of their location. "After the call was traced, we were informed about the same and picked up the duo. We found out that they were Bangladeshis and were residing illegally in India. They are claiming that the phone was used by another person, so we are investigating further," said a Valiv police official.
"We have registered the case under the Indian Passport Act and Foreign National Act and are doing a background check on them," said Narayan Patil, inspector, Valiv police station.
