The accused, who were apparently trailed by the police using the electronic surveillance method, were finally nabbed from a place in Marathwada region in the interiors of Maharashtra.

Though robbery is said to be the motive behind the murder, the police are probing other angles, too, and the accused are being questioned.

“Investigations are on in the case,” said a senior police officer. According to sources, cash worth over Rs70,000 and some valuables were seized from the duo. However, the police have still not been able to ascertain the actual amount that could have been taken away by the accused.

The Juhu resident was murdered on Tuesday inside her ground floor flat of Jai Jagdhish building at 5th Road, in the upmarket Juhu area. Kavita Suchak, 43, and her domestic help of 17 years, Prakash Bagwe, 35, were found murdered when Kavita’s two teenage children returned back from school to find the door locked from inside.

The house was found to be ransacked. The police also found Tek Singh and Ram Singh — the family’s two Nepalese domestic helps —  missing since the murder.

During investigations, the police found that the duo was continuously in touch with two other people over mobile phones for two days just before the murder. The police tracked down the numbers only to find them taken on fake documents.

However, the police kept all the mobile phone numbers of the domestic helps’ relatives and friends under surveillance. According to sources, that is how the cops tracked the duo.
