3 more suspected cases of swine flu

Pune’s Naidu hospital admitted two suspected cases - a 26-year-old male and a 24- year-old female - who had returned from London recently.

Three persons, suspected of contacting swine flu, have been quarantined in Pune and Nagpur on Tuesday. Pune’s Naidu hospital admitted two suspected cases - a 26-year-old male and a 24- year-old female - who had returned from London recently, while in a Nagpur hospital, a 59-year-old male, who returned from Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Pattaya and Calcutta on 21 June complained of throat irritation dry cough fever.

“Throat swabs of the two patients from Pune have been sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV), while swabs of the Nagpur patient will be taken tomorrow,” said Dr U Gawande, incharge of swine flu in the state.

The Pune-based software engineer, who was the third person in the state to test positive for swine flu, and who is admitted to Naidu Hospital in Pune, is responding well to treatment, said officials.

The 24-year old had come from US via London and had gone to Lucknow and Delhi.
