The MHB police have formed four teams and dispatched them to different locations, including Uttar Pradesh, following the murder of 56-year-old Hosand Boman in Dahisar (West). Boman was found dead in his house on Monday.

The police are trying to establish contacts with those who were in touch with Ajay, the man who reportedly visited the deceased in his house several times. Ajay is a masseur.

Police are also questioning Ajay’s friends to get clues about his whereabouts. “We are questioning several people who live in Bandra as Ajay does. We are investigating the case from possible angles and trying to find out if the offence was the result of a homosexual relationship,” said senior police inspector Suresh Kilje.

Boman was a resident on the 10th floor of the Northern Star building in the Kandarpada area of Dahisar (West). Boman’s body was first found when his servant, Sunder Pillai, 56, came to his house and found the door locked. Pillai then called one of Boman’s friends who had the spare key to the house. “The accused stuffed an underwear in Boman’s mouth and sealed it with tape. It appears that he died due to suffocation,” said Kilje.

“Ajay, a native of UP, is the main suspect because he came to the victim’s house on Saturday along with two of his friends; he is now absconding. One of his friends said that Ajay always contacted the victim from public phones.”

The police say that preliminary investigations point at robbery as the motive. “But we don’t know how much cash has been stolen from the house,” added Kilje.
