5 women rail passengers injured in freak mishap in Mumbai

Five women passengers received minor injuries in a freak mishap involving a suburban train at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) in Mumbau this morning, railway officials said.

The Thane-CST train overshot and rammed into iron panels that indicate the dead-end. The trains are supposed to stop at a distance away from the panels, they said.

Five women passengers, who were in the first compartment after the motorman's cabin, suffered minor injures due to the sudden jolt. They were examined by railway doctors at CST, they said.

The motorman is being questioned for the reason behind the incident, the officials said.
