Six motorcycles were gutted by fire during the wee hours of Friday at Gowardhan Housing Society in MIDC area, Chinchwad.
The Sant Tukaramnagar fire brigade officials said that the fire station received a call at about 1.30 am on Friday from one of the residents of the society informing them about the incident. Two fire tenders reached the spot within 10 minutes.
The supervisor of the fire station, Bhagwan Yamgar, said that by the time the fire tenders reached the spot, the residents had doused the fire.
“The residents do not have any inkling as to why the fire broke out. We suspect some miscreants could have set the vehicles ablaze,” he added. Last week, some motorcycles were gutted by fire at Mithanagar in Kondhwa area.
