Several passengers were stranded due to a flash strike called by a section of Air India employees on Tuesday.

Shilpi Garg, 27, an HR professional from Delhi said: “My IC 658 Mumbai-Delhi flight that was to leave at 5pm got cancelled.  Now, I am trying to book myself on another airline. I have to join work from tomorrow and need to go to Delhi today.”

Terminal 1A was abuzz with passengers who were running fromone terminal to another or airline counter to know their flight status. Some, however, were just sitting and hoping that everything returns to normal by evening.

“My flight IC 603 is at 9pm. I did not know about the strike. As my flight is late I think I don’t need to worry. Things might change in the evening,” a passenger said.

Even Harshad Behere, 32, a software engineer who had a Mumbai-Bangalore flight in the evening looked unperturbed. When he got to know about the strike, he ran to the airline counter to know his flight status. “They do not know the flight status and have asked me to wait,” he said.
