Supporters of veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare in Pimpri-Chinchwad area on Friday staged a rasta roko and jail bharo agitation at Pimpri Chowk.
They blocked the road which connects to the Mumbai-Pune National Highway for some time disrupting traffic. Later, about 100 of them courted arrest.
The supporters of Anna included members of different unions of various companies, social organisations and citizens’ groups.
The stir was led by independent corporator of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Maruti Bhapkar, and president of Nagri Hakka Suraksha Samiti, Manav Kamble. They demanded that the Centre should pass the Jan Lokpal Bill without delay.
