Anna Hazare supporters fast in solidarity in Pune

Hazare undertook a day-long fast at Rajghat in Delhi to protest against corruption and the alleged police brutality against followers of yoga guru, Baba Ramdev.

Followers of the anti-corruption crusader, Anna Hazare, on Wednesday undertook a fast in the city to express solidarity with him.

Members of the Aapla Parisar Trust, backed by local corporator, Ujjwal Keskar, went on a fast from 8 am to 2 pm at the trust
office in Samarth Peth, Karvenagar.

Supporters of Anna Hazare also went on a fast at Pimpri Chowk.
Civic activists belonging to the Bharat Swabhiman, India Against Corruption and Sajag Nagrik Manch held a dharna in front of Shaniwarwada on Wednesday. About 200 activists
participated in it.

Many residents of Karvenagar area visited the office of the Aapla Parisar Trust and expressed full support for Hazare.

“Our stir is to express our solidarity with Anna in his crusade against corruption. We condemn the police action against those attending the anti-corruption satyagraha in Delhi by Baba Ramdev,” said Subhash Khadilkar, chairman of the trust.

A resident of the area, Arvind Mahadev Patvardhan, lamented that the level of corruption is becoming worrisome.

“The government, instead of tackling the problem, is trying to gag the voices of those raising the matter. The common people would certainly back such agitations,” he said.
