One more victim who was badly injured during the Andheri railway bridge collapse incident died in Nanavati Hospital, Vile Parle on Sunday, July 29.

Out of the five injured, three were in critical condition. While one of the critical injured Asmita Katkar died due weeks ago, another victim 52-year-old Manoj Mehta, who was shifted to ICU ward at Nanavati Hospital from civic-run RN Cooper Hospital died on Sunday evening around 7 pm.

Manoj Mehta was Chartered Accountant by profession. He was on ventilator from last three weeks. He was rescued from the debris. While he suffered multiple injuries, he was operated for spinal injuries in the hospital.

The hospital gave out a statement, stating, "The accident victim of the Andheri bridge collapse Manoj Mehta had passed away today evening due to multiple organ failure. Our condolences are with the family at this hour of grief."

The hospital refused to give out further details related to the patient.

Besides the spinal fracture and affected kidney functioning, Manoj suffered from injuries on his upper arm and chest. A major vessel in his body has ruptured.

He was traveling to Andheri by boarding Dahanu local for work. Other members in his family included two daughters and a wife.

The cost of the medical treatment while he was in ventilator was taken carry by the hospital authority and railway authority.
