Anti-corruption bureau nabs headmaster and clerk in Pune

Two officials of a government aided resident school were arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe from a peon of the school at Gohe village in Ambegaon taluka of Pune.

The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) team arrested a headmaster and senior clerk of a government aided resident school for allegedly accepting a bribe Rs2,000 from a peon of the school at Gohe village in Ambegaon taluka on Tuesday for releasing pending salary arrears.

The suspects who have been identified as headmaster Mansoor Abdul Jojgar (56) and clerk Rajaram Gadekar (40) were caught red-handed while accepting bribe from peon Manoj Sahebrao Shinde (32) on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the complainant Shinde, he has been working in a school at Gohe village in Ambegaon taluka and Gadekar, the senior clerk of the school had sanctioned Shinde’s revised pay scale arrears. After signature of headmaster Jojgar, Gadekar demanded Rs2,000 from Shinde as bribe.

Of Rs2,000, Rs500 was supposed to go to Jojgar and Rs1,500 was supposed to go to Gadekar.

On Monday, Shinde had approached ACB office in Pune and lodged a complaint.
